THE SANT'ANGELO HILL
In terms of geography and topography, Sant’Angelo is the most southerly and the most Mediterranean hill of the Montalcino denomination. The proximity between the coast and our terroir allows marine breezes to influence our soils. The abundant sunlight resulting from our exposure has made Sant'Angelo a fertile area since Roman times: the 'golden hill' has been cultivated for thousands of years with wheat, spelt, olive groves, and moscato grapes.

THE VINEYARDS

The Marone Cinzano family has been growing Sangiovese on the Sant’Angelo hill for over 50 years: at Col d’Orcia since 1973, at Argiano for 30 years until 2013, and today in the Lot.1 parcels, tended to by the new generation. The idiosyncrasies of the hill, as well as the intimate relationship between the terroir and the Sangiovese grape, are fundamental to the knowledge that our family has developed over the years. Today, we cultivate over 70 hectares of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG (from a total of 108 hectares of Sangiovese) with certified organic practices and following biodynamic principles. Our viticultural heritage has driven us to pursue a new goal: producing a Brunello which is able to magnify the quality of each harvest, by selecting the best fruit from whichever plot was best in show for that vintage.
